Your October visit to Orlando will be frighteningly fabulous when you plan to attend a few special Halloween-themed events taking place throughout the area. From family-friendly fun to more ghastly and ghoulish experiences that are not for the faint of heart, the Orlando area is the place to be for a great Halloween experience this year!
The whole family will love a trip to the zoo, and the Central Florida Zoo is an even more special place to visit with its Zoo Boo Bash in October. On October 17, 18, 24, 25, and 31 this year, the Zoo Boo Bash encourages kids to wear their costumes to the zoo for trick or treating at various stations throughout the zoo, as well as plenty of other fun activities like face painting, a pumpkin patch, a haunted hayride and educational events. Hotels located close to the Central Florida Zoo include the Garden Inn Lake Mary, the Comfort Inn and Conference Center North, and the Candlewood Suites Altamonte Springs.
At the Magic Kingdom on select dates in September, October, and November, give your family a kid-friendly way to celebrate the magic of Halloween with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Wear your costume into the park and enjoy a special Halloween parade with your favorite Disney characters, as well as trick-or-treating at various locations in the park. Admission to the park is required, and an additional $2 fee is required to enter the Halloween Party area. Hotels close to the Magic Kingdom are the Disney Contemporary Resort at Disney World Magic Kingdom Area and the Disney Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Each weekend in October, head over to Sea World Orlando for a special Halloween experience with Shamu and all of his underwater friends with Shamu's Halloween Spooktacular. This exciting family-friendly event encourages you to wear your costumes to the park and participate in the children's costume parade. You will also have the opportunity to trick or treat throughout the park, and enjoy Halloween-themed special shows. This event starts at noon every weekend day in October. Hotels located near SeaWorld Orlando are the Renaissance Orlando Resort, the International Plaza Resort and Spa, and the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando.
For a more ghoulish experience, take part in one 18th Annual Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. This event is one of the largest Halloween celebrations in the country and promises to give you a full evening of terror. With new haunted houses, scarezones, creepy shows, and plenty of folks in scary costumes, this event promises to scare even the most steadfast visitors. The Halloween Horror Nights takes place throughout October. Hotels located near Universal Studios include the Hard Rock Hotel, the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel.
