Every spring the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando is host to the annual American Motorcyclist Association Supercross event. The American Motorcyclist Association, more commonly referred to as the AMA, is the most established and oldest of all the motorcycle racing organizations in the United States and provides high level competitors, bikes and excitement as riders race for honors within the AMA Supercross series. Supercross is a more advanced and challenging type of race and is considered to be a level up from motorcross. The track is known for its fast pace and exciting course. Spectators are close to the action allowing easy viewing of the jumps, racing, and the acrobatics and sheer speed of this event. The competition at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is one of the first Supercross events of the year and attracts the best of the Supercross motorcyclists from around the United States and even from other countries.
The AMA Supercross event at the Florida Citrus Bowl provides entertainment for the whole family. The Stadium is able to hold over 70,000 spectators with a wide array of displays and exhibitions plus concession stands open to provide all food, drink and souvenir needs. In addition the Stadium has been fully upgraded to provide access and seating for disabled spectators and an escalator has been added to make getting to and from seating areas easier for all in attendance. Visitors to the AMA Supercross event are also close to many other vacation hotspots in and around Orlando, making this a great stop on a spring vacation.
