This year marks the 13th annual International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot Center in Orlando, FL, one of the biggest foodie events in the world, drawing tourists from across the globe to hotels in Orlando. The festival will descend upon the city from September 26 through November 9, 2008, able to visit the buildup of towns and marketplaces that represent culture, food, and wine around the world. More than 25 different international cultures will be represented, ranging from Mexico to France to South Africa. Kiosks will be set up with small portions of specialty foods (appetizer sized), available for $2-5, with recommendations for wine or beer pairings with each. Daily complimentary wine and beer tastings are served as well. You can even reserve private events, such as attendance at one of the Epcot Wine Schools, Cheese Tastings, and Sweet Sundays.
Visitors to Orlando hotels can attend, wandering around the World Showcase promenade, tasting everything from traditional Irish comfort foods to exotic Moroccan dishes and savory examples of French cuisine. Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and more complete the international assault on the pallet. As you wonder about, enjoy the exhibits of arts and crafts from around the world, and take note of showcase entertainment and guest chefs and speakers. Get keepsakes at the Festival Welcome Center, such as pins and the official festival cookbook. Expect musical entertainment in the evenings as well by such renowned artists as En Vogue or Kool & the Gang. The International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot Center continues to grow by leaps and bounds every year, making this 6-week festival one of the most popular food events in the world.
