Known to many as "nature's theme park", Silver Springs in Ocala, FL, is a great place to celebrate any occasion, and the Salute to America 4th of July spectacular is no exception. For 2008, the party will be especially worth attending, with Lee Greenwood performing many of his hits and most importantly "God Bless the USA". Booking a room at one of the Ocala hotels will put you in prime position to attend, enjoying the concert and fireworks, as well as several other patriotic displays and entertainment. Clothe yourself in red, white, and blue and head out to the park, where you'll be able to enjoy rides and exhibits all day long prior to the main events.
Special ceremonies will include veterans groups and representatives from local law enforcement and rescue squads, as well as a color guard ceremony and the display of a collection of military vehicles and equipment. The event is free to attend with admission to the park, so be sure to take advantage of regular park attractions as well, such as a cruise on a glass-bottomed boat where you can view the underground springs or a stroll through the animal displays. You can also catch scheduled entertainment daily, including the reptile and birds of prey shows. Guests of hotels in Ocala or even in nearby Orlando should make it a point to visit Silver Springs Nature Park, and those in the area over Independence Day would be sorely mistaken to miss the Salute to America at Silver Springs.
