The stadium underwent a large transformation in 1989 when it was modernized into the current stadium, which cost $38 million. The modernization of the stadium included adding disabled seating and elevators, a modern playing field with state-of-the-art equipment and upgrades to their phone and electrical systems as well as new escalator systems. They use exclusive brands of Bermuda grass for the stadium turf.
