They lie, coiled and slithering, waiting for you behind glass-plated windows. You cannot see them until you step into a simple, block cinder building with stucco covering. Welcome to Reptile World Serpentarium. You can find it in St. Cloud, Florida, on the very outskirts of the Orlando tourist route. As the name more than implies, Reptile World Serpentarium provides a glimpse into the world of snakes. If you are deathly afraid of snakes, this is NOT the place for you. If you are truly fascinated by these reptiles, what are you waiting for? There are more than enough snakes to draw and keep your attention during a visit. Reptile World Serpentarium has more than 50 species of snakes. They come from all around the world. Sitting in their glass-fronted cages, waiting for your visit are some of the most poisonous snakes in the world. There is the Australian Taipan, the Eastern Diamondback rattler, the 18' King Cobra, the Monocled cobra, the West African Mambo, the East African green mambo and the black and white spitting cobra. To add to the interest, the Reptile World Serpentarium is a working snake farm. Every day, you can see the handlers "milk" the venom from poisonous snakes. They send it off to destinations around the country and the world. This is one of the main draws of this attraction. The Reptile World Serpentarium does have other reptiles on its premises. You can see a 44' alligator. There are also turtles in a pool. You can also visit the iguanas. Yet, its major appeal lies in its snake collection and the venom milking show.
